Mrs. Indiana 2007-2008

Autumn Daniels

My name is Autumn Anne Daniels, and I currently reside in Indianapolis, Indiana, but I am moving to Noblesville, Indiana, in November.  I am a very, very busy person.  I work full-time as the Design, Print, and Ship Depot Manager for Office Depot in Noblesville, Indiana (a brand new store!).  I attend school part-time double majoring in Business Management and Criminal Justice Corrections, I volunteer, and make appearances for my current titles.

I have been competing in pageants for six years now.  The first pageant I competed in was the Double A+ Beauty Pageant which was held at my high school.  I won!  From there, I went on to compete in the Miss American Coed Pageants.  My first pageant with American coed was in July 2001.  I competed against a little over 100 girls, and I was a semi-finalist.  I had so much fun that weekend that I told my mom that I wanted to compete again the next year.  She said I could, but that I needed to prepare and practice more; so I did.  However, I waited two years to go back, and I’m glad I did.

When I competed in July 2004, I competed in the overall queen’s competition and the talent competition.  I was a semi-finalist in the queen’s competition and I was first runner-up in the talent competition.  The most memorable moment from that pageant that year was meeting Jayme.  She and I were in the same division, but we hung out all weekend together, and we still stay in contact.  She is such an inspirational and uplifting person.  My continuing to compete in pageants is partly due to her.  Thank you Jayme!

I worked harder after 2004’s pageant so I could do better at the pageant in 2005.  I again competed in the queen’s competition and talent competition.  I was first runner-up in the queen’s competition and I won the talent competition.  Talk about exciting moments!  I went to Nationals in November and competed in the Victory Queen’s competition and the talent competition.  I placed fourth runner-up in the queen’s competition and third runner-up in the talent competition.

To prepare for the 2006 competition, I prepared all year!  I competed in the overall queen’s competition, talent competition with two entries, the photogenic competition, and the speech competition.  I placed second runner-up in the queen’s competition, I won the talent competition for playing our National Anthem on my flute, I was first runner-up to myself in the talent competition for singing Think of Me from Phantom of the Opera, I placed first runner-up in the photogenic competition, and I placed first runner-up in the speech competition.  The two most exciting awards I took home from the pageant were the Most Promising Model award and Miss Personality award.

Pageants just use to be something to do, a hobby, but now, pageants are my life.  It is not the competing that I like or the crowns or banners, it is the meeting new people and making new friends that I cherish most.  The one thing I always remember, and that I tell myself every time I’m getting ready to compete, is the saying, “Everyone is a queen.  It’s not the crown that makes a girl a queen; it’s the person inside that makes a girl a queen.”  Thanks again Jayme!  You are truly an inspiration.
