Miss Arkansas 2007-2008
Justiana McMurray
I am very excited to be the 2008 delegate representing the state
of Arkansas in the Miss Classic Beauty Pageant. I was born in Los Angeles,
California and recently moved to Northwest Arkansas-the natural state!
In June 2004, I happily culminated my studies at American
InterContinental University in Los Angeles, earning a Bachelor's Degree of Fine
Arts in Fashion Marketing. I have been very lucky to have worked in different
areas of the fashion industry during my journey. At 14, I earned my very first
beauty queen title, in El Salvador my mother's country of birth. I was also
signed to Mac Models agency in Los Angeles. Also, I was a fashion volunteer for
Gen Art and able to attend many important events to support new designers. Some
of my latest accomplishments in the industry have been runway coaching and
career mentoring for aspiring models of all ages. I was featured in
publications such as "Mia" Magazine, and "Prensa Latina" of Las Vegas. I am very proud to
have earned titles of Fashion Stylist, Runway coach, Fashion Show Producer,
Event Hostess, Volunteer, Jewelry Designer
, Daughter, and always Student!
My most recent accomplishment is the beginning of a community
based project. The project is called "Miss NWA Independencia" (Miss Northwest Arkansas
Independence) and it aims to promote and raise awareness of different matters
that are affecting families of the Latino community. My passion has always been
for the fashion industry, but I always had a spark for community affairs. In 2007,
I set forth to pursue my dream of becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist and
enrolled in a program at a University. As an MFT, I intend to listen, guide and
mentor, marriages, relationships, friendships, self growth, inner beauty and
life coaching by emphasizing and teaching the power of positive thinking.
