Mrs. Maryland Classic Beauty 2008 is Katie Reitmayer. Katie is a stay-at-home mother and part-time Realtor with Long & Foster Real Estate Inc., where she specializes in historic homes. Katie is also a part-time college student at the University of Maryland where she is majoring in history.

Katie, a Rockville MD native, now lives on beautiful Cobb Island, MD with her husband of 8 years, Brian; her three sons, Zane, Maximilian, and Leopold; her Great Dane, MoonDog; and her recently adopted cat, Edgar.

In her spare time, Katie enjoys sewing, playing music, singing (poorly), working on cars, and remodeling her house. Katie’s passions include American history, politics, and working with children.

Katie volunteers with several charities. She is a certified adult literacy tutor with the Charles County Literacy Council. She also volunteers with Women Empowered Against Violence as an events hostess. She has also volunteers as event staff for the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade. Additionally, Katie does several fundraising events every year including March of Dimes March for Babies, AIDS Walk Washington, Pepsi International Race to End Child Sexual Abuse, and the Tri-County Animal Shelter Walk for Pets.

In the future, Katie plans to teach social studies at a high school level. She is also hoping to run for Maryland General Assembly in 2010
